Break Up Etiquette
Break up etiquette comes down to one thing...respect. If you have cared about someone spent time with them then breaking up should be done in a caring and respectful way...but it still needs to be done. As nice or polite as you try to be you may find that you have to be tough or stern to get your point across. It is hard to spare feelings in a break up because in essence you are rejecting a person but you can still let them down easy.
Break up in person or not?
I've heard the question asked many times should I do the deed in person or can I break up with someone over the phone? What about a text message this day and age is it against break up rules to send your message via text? The answer is simple, you know what the right thing is to do as painful as it may be. So don't chicken out, face the music and if you care and respect someone give the break up the same care and respect. However if you are worried you wont go through with it if you have to face them then do the break up as gently as possible any other way. Despite how it's down chances are feelings will still get hurt so just do the best you can.
