Self Care
Too often taking care of ourselves falls to the bottom of the list. Self care is critical to treating ourselves right. We need to look after our own needs before we can look after the needs of others. It will help you to be a better person. Nobody is always ready to be in a relationship. There are times when you need time to recover from a previous relationship or need to focus on taking care of yourself. Many people have relationship difficulties during times when mentally, physically, or spiritually they are not ready.
Taking Care of the Basics
First ask yourself how do you take care of others?You probably make sure they are ok mentally with getting the support they need for example. You probably also make sure their physical needs are met through adequate food, clothing, shelter etc. Now think about the things you do for other poeple and ask yourself if you are doing the same important things for yourself. Are you giving yourself the support you need to feel good or are you mentally beating yourself up? Are you taking care of the basics in terms of eating good food, getting enough sleep and finding time for excercise? Get the basics covered because they will see you through good times and bad.
Really Taking Good Care of Yourself
Most of us know the basics of self care although we may not practice them consistently.We know we should get some form of daily exercise, it leads to a healthier us in better shape to be around our loved ones. We know we need to eat right and sleep enough. But we can go to a deeper level if we really want to care for ourselves and love ourselves so that we can improve our chances of success with loving others. Write down your goals and figure out what you want in life and how to get it. Spend some time alone in silence. Get centered, relax, reflect and it will pay off.
